SARATOGA SPRINGS - Each junior at the Waldorf School had a firsthand look at a career they might want for themselves during the school's recent Junior Internship Program. The students shadowed mentors in fields ranging from massage therapy to geoscience.
The students gave presentations about their experience to the school community and business partners. They included:
Lydia Aimone studied theater with Arlene Leff at the New York State Theater Institute's costume department in Albany.
Hannah Antalek was a studio assistant for Riad Miah at the Parsons School of Design in New York City.
Billy Cole shadowed guidance counselor Steve Shephard at Forts Ferry Elementary School in Latham.
Dylan Gandy worked in conservation with Candace Russo at the Oahu Army Natural Resources Program in Oahu, Hawaii.
Olivia LaGrone worked with David Easter at Peace Action Network in Albany.
Anthony Magheti shadowed massage therapist Bob Harris in therapeutic massage in Glendale, Calif.
Michael Maylahn worked with Albany County Health Commissioner Dr. James Crucetti and Marsha Lenehan, also with the county health department.
Sojourner Morrell worked with lab assistants and Dr. Robert Phinney in the geoscience department at Princeton University.
Siobhan Muldoon worked with Terri DiMartini and the staff at the Raphael House, a shelter for at-risk children and families in San Francisco.
Galen Passen apprenticed with the staff and Sunyanami Graef at the Vermont Zen Center in Shelburne, Vt.
Carl Penk shadowed retired Alaska Airlines pilot Michael Crich in Seattle.
Isabel Van Hall shadowed yoga instructor Suzanne Lynch of Saratoga Springs Yoga and Adi Carter, a guest instructor at Skidmore College.
Emily Williams shadowed Heather Eddings at the YMCA Kidz Lodge in Clifton Park.
