ALBANY - Former first lady Rosalynn Carter will be guest of honor this month at a mental health advocacy reception.
The Foundation of Advocacy for Mental Health Inc. is honoring Carter from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 24, at the Lincoln House at 284 State St.
Carter has been 'a driving force in the field of mental health throughout her public service career. She continues her work through the Carter Center Mental Health Program and the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving,' the organization said.
Tickets are $150 per person for the reception and $250 for a VIP gathering.
The foundation's mission is to 'encourage, develop and support educational campaigns and other initiatives to improve understanding of mental illness and ensure access to quality care.'
It is a nonprofit group and ticket donations exceeding $25 qualify as a charitable contribution. The foundation's address is PO Box 322, Albany, NY 12201. Those interested in attending must respond by April 20.
